European Citizen Science Association — ECSA
ECSA is the European federation of citizen-science organizations, founded in 2013 during EU Green Week and registered as an e.V. headquartered at the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin. It coordinates hundreds of member organizations across the EU and beyond, runs the EU-Citizen.Science platform at citizenscience.eu, and was a founding member of the Citizen Science Global Partnership (CSGP). ECSA is a coordination, policy-advocacy, and standards-promotion body — not a data layer. It endorses PPSR-Core (maintained by AAPS) and the OGC Citizen Science DWG profile. Hosts biennial flagship conferences (most recent: Vienna 2024; next Oulu 2026) and participates in EU Framework Programme citizen-science projects.
