RitmeNatura + FenoCat — Catalan Phenology Citizen Science
Two complementary Catalan phenology citizen-observation networks bundled as a single registry entry because they cover the same variable (plant/animal phenophases) over the same geography (Catalonia) and formally cross-recognize each other. RitmeNatura is the CREAF-led observatory (with Meteocat, UAB, Barcelona City Council, FECYT) that collects phenophase observations via the iNaturalist mobile app under the FenoRural project. FenoCat (Xarxa Fenològica de Catalunya) is the parallel Meteocat-operated network — revived in 2013 after originally running 1932-1939 — with ~60 volunteer observers tracking 25 plant, 14 bird, and 6 butterfly species via a dedicated web app. Both feed CREAF scientific work and are explicitly cited as partial matches in CREAF's own G-reqs requirement for Catalonia phenology calibration data.
