Methane SWIR Absorption (2300 nm)
Primary CH4 absorption band exploited by EMIT, AVIRIS-NG, MethaneSAT, GHGSat for plume detection via matched filtering. Sentinel-2 SWIR2 (B12) too wide for quantitative retrieval, useful only for coarse detection of large plumes.
