USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD)

The Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) defines the areal extent of surface water drainage for the United States using a hierarchical system of hydrologic units (HUs). The dataset uses a standardized coding system (HUC - Hydrologic Unit Code) with nested levels from 2-digit regions down to 12-digit subwatersheds. The WBD is part of the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) and is maintained as a seamless national coverage. It is the official USGS watershed delineation for the US.
