Inbreeding

The probability that two alleles at a locus in an individual are identical by descent, typically expressed as the inbreeding coefficient F or runs-of- homozygosity-derived F_ROH. Tracks loss of heterozygosity from mating between related individuals; relevant to ex-situ breeding programmes and small wild populations.
